Bridesmaids dresses

I made 3 bridesmaid dresses for the wedding.  Two dresses had the Itch to Stitch Davina dress bodice and one had the Love Notions Willow Wrap dress bodice.  All we’re maxi length with POCKETS and flutter style sleeves. One dress was a maternity version for our Niece.  The fabric was a great find at Fabric Mart Fabrics on a knit fabric sale.

Wedding Dress

Girl M allowed me to make her wedding dress.  I have never a wedding dress before.  She was an easy bride and was easy going with only a few request.  All over lace, nude lining & deep v back. Easy peasy!

I had found knit lace at Fabric Mart Fabrics back in January and she loved it! The nude lining was a ITY knit from Fabric.com.

I hacked a few different patterns for the dress and bought a wedding gown pattern from EBay for the trane since I wasn’t sure if could wing that part.  Girl M requested a flutter sleeve since it was going to be so hot. Her dress was perfect on her & for the venue & the mood of her wedding (little boho).

I started with Love Notions Summer basics tank for the bodice, making it with a v front and a very deep v in the back.  I made a belt/waistband with elastic to help with the weight of the skirt & train. I used the Love Notions Willow Wrap flutter sleeve.

I used soft horsehair hem band on the skirt lining to help the skirt stand out and to keep it from wrapping around her ankles while walking. It worked out perfect.

Making a wedding dress was easier than I had thought.  Using knit fabric is very forgiving and having a bride that was so easy going made it even better.

Pattern Emporium Take the Chance Shirtdress

Pattern Emporium did a great job promoting their newest pattern release. After seeing many versions being debuted I HAD to have this pattern!

Of course life got in the way and it took me 4 days to make this very simple dress.  I started with a size 14 but had to use size 20 sleeves.  I sewed the long bodice with 2 long tiers. No buttons on the skirt.

I found a piece of rayon/poly fabric that use as a muslin thinking the print was not “me”.  But after finishing the dress I am really liking it. A true wearable muslin!

Love Notion Breckinridge Henley Top

I know living in Florida that Fall is far off for us but I felt the need to hurry the season along.  Love Notions Breckinridge Henley and waffle knit fabric made a lovely combination.

Love Notions Willow Wrap Dress

This Liverpool fabric has been begging to be a Willow wrap dress for a while.  I listened & I love it!

I made the plain front wrap bodice and made a 3/4 circle skirt.  I also added pockets & flutter sleeves. The fabric was easy to sew with and I can’t wait to wear it.

This dress may be the most comfortable dress yet. A+ for Love Notions and A+ Fabric Mart Fabrics.

Pattern Emporium Field of Dreams Pattern-Wedding Shower Dress

For Girl M & Boy AJ's couples wedding shower I made Girl M's dress.  She wanted overall lace, knee length & cool, since it's so hot & humid here in Florida.  I found a vintage lace tablecloth I had in my stash from my sweet neighbor years ago.  Perfect!  I used the Pattern Emporium Field of Dreams dress pattern as a base.

I lined all the pattern pieces with a charmeuse fabric and treated the pattern pieces as one.  It was an easy sew and Girl M. loved the dress.

The girls came over prior to the shower and helped with decorations.
