Love Notions Terra Tunic

Another top for Girl M.  This was a fun make and very quick to sew up.  I used a floral print brushed sweater knit from Fabric Mart Fabrics.

Girl M  liked the top, took it with her and I never got a photo of her wearing it.

Love Notions Aria Shacket

I wanted to make myself a shacket and the Love Notions Aria shirt pattern was the perfect choice.  I used a cotton plaid yarn dyed flannel fabric from Fabric Mart Fabrics.  The fabric was a little too heavy/thick for a dress so I thought a shacket would work.

I upsized three sizes so I would have room to wear under layers.  I am in Love with this!

The shacket was a bit boxy on me so I added a casing with elastic in the back.  Perfect!

I am hoping to get to wear this once or twice this season.

Love Notions Willow Wrap Dress-Green Velvet Knit

I look back at this dress and remember I wore it to Church Sunday morning in December and apparently took a nap after Church and woke up sometime in January!  I think I was starting to get sick with Covid and I only wore it to morning service.  After my nap the dress seemed too heavy to wear and I think I put on my pajamas and went to bed.  Oh well, it's ready for the holiday next year!

Love Notions Willow Wrap dress is one of my most favorite patterns.  The fit is A+ and you can use about any style sleeve with this pattern.  I used a long sleeve with a cuff for this one.

The fabric sewed up great but once I tried it on, the stretch was very minimal.  But the dress was wearable just very form fitting.

Love Notions Whistler Top

I sewed a few of the Love Notions Whistler Top back in November & December.  I made one for Girl M and three for myself.  Can you really have too many?

This started out as a dress but it just didn't do anything for me.  It sat on my dress form for over a month and one day I just cut it off.  I loved it!  So much better length and look.  The only complaint is that the fabric snags on everything!  It's a corded stretch lace by Susana Monaco I purchased from Fabric Mart Fabrics sometime ago.

This Whistler top was for Girl M.  I'm really liking sleeve cuffs right now.  Girl M's was from an animal print Hacci Sweater knit fabric I purchased a few years back from Fabric Mart Fabrics too.

So can you have too many Whistler tops?  I don't think so!

McCall's 7122 Raglan Sleeve Top

I had big plans prior to Christmas to wear a bit more Christmas clothes.  But with Covid I was lucky to just get dressed everyday.  But I did make a top with the cutest dog/snowflake christmas print from a sweater knit fabric that had been in my stash for a few years.  It was so soft.  It looks a bit like a pajama top but I also think it would be cute with a pink vest over it. I added a sleeve cuff too.

Love Notions Boyfriend Cardigan Colorblocked

I love watching QVC for inspiration & ideas.  Last week a Kim Gravel color blocked cardigan caught my eye.  I dug through my fabric and found three pieces that I thought went well together and pattern hacked my Love Notions Boyfriend Cardigan pattern to make a pretty close version of it.

The Eggshell and print are ponte knit fabrics and the black is a sweater knit.  It was a bit tricky matching up the seams but after a few times picking & re-sewing I got most of them matched well.

I'm ready for cooler weather so I can wear my new cardigan.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  The last part of the past year has been a whirlwind and not all good.  I have survived and I am looking forward to a New Year, a fresh start and many many Blessings!

Dear Hubby & I had Covid over the Christmas holiday and we are just now getting back to "normal"!  It's been a long few weeks.  I am short a few brain cells after being sick and being out of practice made my sewing seem slow and fumbly to me.  But I sewed and  finished a garment for the New Year.  (give or take a week!)

I sewed the Pattern Emporium Meet You There Dress.  Sleeveless with waist ties and 3 tiers.  I have made this pattern before and thought it would be a good sewing mojo starter!

I hope that I will have many exciting new sews to show you in the future and that we continue to have a safe, healthy & happy New Year.
