McCall 7122 Raglan Sleeve Jersey Knit Tops

Girl M. picked out fabrics for more knit tops.

$4.00 Top

I did a pretty good job on the neckband!

I did not pay $11.00 a yard for this jersey knit.  It was one of Fabric Mart Fabrics 65% off sales.

I wasn't sure about this stripe fabric for a T-shirt but it turned out so much better than I imagined.  Girl M LOVED it!

I had to make a version with a color block look.  I was afraid Girl M. wouldn't like it but she did!

McCall 7122 Raglan Sleeve Jersey Knit Top

Girl M wanted some t-shirts again.  Last year I made her a few from this McCall 7122 and she wore them out.  This pattern is an easy sew and I can usually make a complete top in less than an hour.  She wanted the top long enough to wear with leggings and with a curved shirt tail hem.  Easy enough!

This is a wearable muslin.

The top only takes 1 yard of fabric.  Easy stash buster!  She likes the sleeves & top in the same fabric but mixing it up makes the raglan sleeve more noticeable!

Girl M was happy with the fit and the style of the top so there will be a few more in the works soon.

McCall 3033 Chiffon Capelette

I made this strawberry pink TNT dress to go with my Isaac Mizarahi floral blazer but it's still so hot here in Florida.  I thought a light weight chifffon capelette would be something different for Church.

I used the McCall 3033 pattern I had in my little (700+) pattern stash.

McCall 3033

The capelette was a hit at Church and everyone was amazed that I made it.  I didn't tell them how easy it was!  I made a turned narrow hem that took forever but was so worth the time.  Classy & so elegant!

Butterick 4807 Peacock Wide Legged Pants McCall 7193 Knit Top

I threw my Mom a Birthday Party last month.  I had a peacock theme in mind but I didn't want to overdo it and make it feel too much.  So I thought besides a few small decorations with peacock feathers and a little stack of cute peacock napkins I kept it simple.  Then I had to make somthing to wear that quietly said "peacock".  Everyone loved the outfit and I wish I had remembered to take a photo before the festivities started.  But life gets in the way sometimes.

On the top row is Myself & Girl M, next row down is my Mom's SIL & her DIL, next row down is my Favorite Aunt (Mom's Sister) and Lady K (my DIL), bottom row is My Mom and her DIL.

Mom enjoyed being pampered for the day, and is still recovering from a fall in May that resulted in her breaking her ankle just a month after finishing her last radiation treatment for breast cancer for the third time.  She needed a day to know how much she is loved!

I made the McCall 7193 in a ITY knit again.  This top is classy looking and so very easy to whip up in a hurry.  The blueberry color is perfect with the crazy print of the the wide legged pants I made.

For the pants I made up Girl M's favorite wide legged pants from the Butterick 4807.  I did have to take in the seams by 1" for a little slimmer fit.  I also shortened the length by 1" so I wouldn't be walking on the hems.

Mom was so surprised I showed up wearing PANTS!  My only pair of pants.  Then my Favorite Aunt (Mom's Sister) showed up wearing capri's.  I've never seen my Aunt in pants!  She was sooooo cute!
Miracles happen every day!

I really do love this outfit but I'm not sure where I would wear it out to.  Maybe dinner?  It's kinda flashy & wild but it's tooooo cute!

Butterick 6378 Bow Blouse

After making the black version I knew I needed a white one too.  A classy white blouse with a shawl collar neck and bow.  I made the sleeves long with elastic at the wrist and the blouse hem is just an easy hip length so I can wear it tucked in or left out.

I'm getting into the Fall mood and can't wait for cooler weather to wear the blouse.

This fabric was great to work with.  It sewed beautifully and pressed easily with a pressing cloth (even though my blouse needs a little more pressing)

McCall 7193 Black ITY Knit Top

I was in need of a black top to wear with a pair of Girl M's wide legged pants.  I thought about the McCall 7193 View C in a sleeveless version.  I wanted this version in a knit fabric so I took in the side seams from the bust to the hips by 5/8" to have a little closer fit.  I also wanted a curved hem so the top looked nice when wore out.

I made this 1/2 circle yoga skirt to wear with the top too.  An easy sew and a quick project after the last top drama.

I borrowed these wide leg pants I made for Girl M.  She didn't even know!  Taking a photo of yourself, by yourself is not easy.  This was the best I could get.

Simplicity 1280 Woven Top Drama

I saw good reviews for the Simplicity 1280 crossover cutout top.  I think I had too high expectations since the past two Butterick tops came out great.   I tried to make View B.

Simplicity 1280

I made a muslin and I'm not sure if it was the fabric or the pattern but it was a headache from the start.  Altering the pattern was a pain since the crossover was involved.  The neck biding was 3" too long, the sleeves were 3/4 length with elastic and that didn't work for me neither did the elastic waist.

I went ahead and made another version.  What was I thinking?  I wasn't trilled with the top to begin with then I make another one!  Well, I was so disgusted with this top that I ended up throwing it into the trash.  And I let it sit there for almost a week.  A few days later I dug it out and put it on my dress form to haunt me.  Finally I asked Girl M. help me fit the top.

I made this version sleeveless since I only had 1-1/2 yards of fabric.  Girl M.'s second set of hands helping with the fit was very helpful and the top ended up being salvageable and I'm glad it's not in the trash. But I am NOT making anymore from this pattern. EVER!

I'm moving onto another pattern, who needs this type of sewing drama?
