 Version #2 of the Pattydoo Gloria dress I sewed up in size G.  Well, Covid-19 added a few pounds since I have munchers around that expect 3 meals a day.  Oh, well, things will get back to "normal" soon enough.

I really love how this dress turned out.  I'm glad we're going back to Church again and I have someplace to wear these makes again because the chickens are not interested in what I wear out to their pen.

PattyDoo Gloria Dress Peach Daisy Dot ITY Knit

 Sometimes a pattern catches your eye and you just have to search it out and make it up.  The only trouble is that this pattern was in German!  Thank goodness for Google translator!  I never heard of PattyDoo Patterns but they had many style I really liked.  The Gloria dress was my dress of choice and I saw a few versions made up on Facebook so I had to make myself one too.

The first thing I had to do was to try to figure out the seam allowances & the size chart, then translate the directions.  There was a YouTube video that helped a lot even though I could not understand what they were saying.  I fell between two sizes the H & I so I ended up just making the I version.  But it ended up being a little big.  The seam allowances were a 1/4".

I really should make sure that my undergarments are the proper color.  But I don't plan on re-taking photos today.

Overall I really liked this dress and hope to make another version that fits better and with a better choice of fabric colors.

Style Arc Floral Double Knit Elley Dress

 You know I cannot make just one version of a pattern.  I loved the Style Arc Elley dress and thought that this large print floral double knit fabric would make a nice version.

This pattern is such quick and easy sew.  Bodice side & should seams, bust dart and one skirt seam.  Hem & finish.  Who could ask for an easier pattern?

Style Arc Elley Knit Dress

I have been really enjoying PDF patterns lately!  I have never sewn a Style Arc Pattern before and this classic dress caught my eye so I thought I would give it a try.  The Elley dress is a simple pull-on knit dress.  

My biggest trouble is figuring out what size I am.  I usually measure between sizes and different sizes between my bust and my hips.  Should I size up, size down? Ugggh!

I cut a straight size 16. The fit was ok.  I ended up having to take in the side seams at the bust 1/2" and shortened the skirt 3".  I must be getting shorter as I age!  I like the cap style sleeves and the modest neckline.  The skirt stumped me at first but patience paid off & I figured it out and then realized I overthink things sometimes.

The waist was a little too big, but I didn't want to take the dress apart just to take in the bodice so I added a little pleat into the center back.

I may consider sizing down on another version. I also didn't not use the bias tape on the neckline and armholes.  To eliminate bulk, I just turned and top-stitch.  Easy for me.

The back pleat is just pinned in.  I am thinking I may sew in a piece of elastic instead.  I'm still on the fence.

Fabric I used was a pre-cut piece of ITY Knit from FabricMartFabrics I purchased a few years ago.  I miss those Pre-cut sales.  $4.80 for a wearable muslin. 

 I am very happy with my first Style Arc pattern and I am thinking of looking at more of their patterns.

Love Notions Pattern Presto Black White Eyelet Dress

A quick sew with the Love Notions Pattern Presto.  This is just a simple black and white eyelet cotton fabric I purchased from FabricMartFabrics.com.  I lengthened the tunic pattern 16" and added bias tape on the armholes.

Love Notions Pattern Presto Denim Dress

Another Love Notions Presto pattern turned into a dress.  I lengthened the tunic 16", made this version sleeveless with bias binding on the armholes and added a self fabric belt.  Light, cool, summertime dress!

Love Notions Pattern La Bella Donna Top Brushed Sweater Knit

After figuring out my mistake on the sleeve of the Love Notions La Bella Donna Top I made another version in a sweater knit.  Why?  Because it's 100 degrees in Florida and I have hopes of wearing it one day!  Taking these photos was horrible.  It was so humid and not only did I have to photograph the sweater but I had to put on jeans too.  This was the quickest photo shoot ever!
