McCall 7254 Black Knit Jacket

I wanted to sew up a shawl collar knit jacket.  Most of my patterns were for a woven lined jackets and I thought it would be too hard to finish them without lining.  I finally remembered that in January I made the McCall 7254 jacket posted here.

I sewed up version "C" the shorter one and the jacket turned out GREAT!

Look at that underarm seam!  That's as close to perfect as you can get!

This matte jersey knit I also used for my black princess seam sheath dress and my slim skirt.  It is almost like ponte knit.  It irons great, and sews up beautifully.  It didn't cut very well.  Maybe it was my scissors.

Out of the 5 yards of this knit I've made a dress, a slim skirt, a jacket and a pair of shorts for Girl M.

I love this jacket and can't wait for Fall/Winter.

I'm off to sew something wonderful.................

Until next time.........

  1. This is wonderful!! And it's amazing how far a larger cut of fabric will go.
