Love Notion Coda Coat

My Mother in Law thrifted a bedcover for me for a test run of the Love Notions Coda Coat.  The pattern is an easy sew with very few pattern pieces. Front, back & sleeve.  I used bias binding from my stash.  I need to make a few fitting adjustments to the pattern since it was a bit too boxy for my liking.  The fabric was a bit stiff too.

The blue bias binding makes the coat look a bit homemade so a toned down version may work better.

I’m off to sew more….

Until next time….

Pattern Emporium Be Mine Balloon Sleeve Top

I knew the Pattern Emporium Balloon Sleeve top would become a favorite with me.  I love that it is a quick sew but very generous in sizing I could always slim/fit a bit more to my liking.

Two more tops for the hanger. I think I may try a dress version in the future.

Happy Sewing…until next time.

Itch to Stitch Islares Top

I love a raglan sleeve top and the Itch to Stitch Islares Top had a square neckline and I HAD to sew it up! It’s a great pattern. Few pattern pieces & a quick sew.

My measurements had me at a size 12 bust and 16 hips.  I used a cotton/jersey knit fabric from my usual FabricMart Fabrics I purchased sometime in the past.

I need to work on finding styles that enhance my shoulders more. They are slim & down slanted.

Happy sewing & Until next time

Pattern Emporium Be Mine Balloon Sleeve Top

I wasn’t sure that the Pattern Emporium Be Mine Balloon Sleeve top was my style but I gave it a shot anyways.  It’s an easy pattern to sew and very generous in the sizing.

I liked this fabric panel yardage I had in my stash from FabricMart Fabrics.  I had to gotten the sleeves by 4” to keep within the panel stripe area.

The second version I lengthened the bodice front and back 1”, used the full length sleeve and ended up removing 2” from the side seams of the bodice.  I feel that the top swallows me.  But it is very comfortable and I think I’ll wear it.

I’m off to sew something new!

Until next time…Happy sewing!

Hello...........October............Life & Sewing

Hello Dear Sewing Friends!
I know I'm been MIA the past few months.  Sewing was happening....slowly & Life was happening very fast!  Time gets away from you quickly. Some days there just isn't enough time in the day. I really need to work on my time management more.

Dear Hubby & I took a trip of a lifetime to Vancouver, BC then a cruise to ALASKA!  It was wonderful!  It was a trip of first.  First time flying in an airplane, First time renting a car & an AirB&B, First time visiting to another country, First time Cruising and First time to Alaska.  It was a lot in 11 days and we enjoyed it very much.

Trip of Firsts!

I sewed a few items for the trip.  Basics mostly since we only used a carry on suitcase.  Black long sleeve t-shirt & black short sleeve t-shirt.  Black ponte knit pants and a hot pink long sleeve t-shirt.  Pretty boring but much needed wardrobe basics for a mini capsule wardrobe.

I also sewed Dear Hubby the Love Notions Pattern Constellation 1/2 zip Jacket.  AND he liked it so much he brought it for the trip!  I sewed it from a Black Ponte Knit fabric from my stash from FabricMart Fabrics.
