The dress is a very flattering modern styled dress with hidden pockets and diagonal waist seams. There are so many possibilities with this pattern. You can make it sporty or classic. The soft v-neck is just the perfect plunge, not too low and the choice of sleeve lengths is very nice too.</p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOzuT7dLxq6utdaiXxBSSRgtNgKYwrJkjkPtsHR1-oOa-3v5BqDSHJup_K5fL3i0IPu7SyK__4aRtX5S-OQKsWGYc-WskPpe77KtH67M3PFSAtRpgnEXjRLlsaIQ8lR6GZHfLk0abClCOzPnG-JmZUlh_aoOzryanLXOWLrhzY6Kw2JfXkWckwV88lcZAu/s2560/9B11F1EB-21BF-4381-994F-32E3E084E65A.webp" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2560" data-original-width="1978" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOzuT7dLxq6utdaiXxBSSRgtNgKYwrJkjkPtsHR1-oOa-3v5BqDSHJup_K5fL3i0IPu7SyK__4aRtX5S-OQKsWGYc-WskPpe77KtH67M3PFSAtRpgnEXjRLlsaIQ8lR6GZHfLk0abClCOzPnG-JmZUlh_aoOzryanLXOWLrhzY6Kw2JfXkWckwV88lcZAu/w309-h400/9B11F1EB-21BF-4381-994F-32E3E084E65A.webp" width="309" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Love Notions Aurora Dress</td></tr></tbody></table><p>I used a jacquard double knit fabric for my version. I had this rose print ITY knit fabric for years. Because it was very thin I self lined the bodice and eliminated the band. I also added a flutter style sleeve. It was such an easy sew with only a few pieces. The pattern sewed together quickly and looks very classy. I used a piece of poly/lycra geometric ponte knit fabric in my stash from Fabric Mart Fabrics. I sewed a MEDIUM! I've never been a medium in my entire adult life! It does have a slimmer fit and a Large would be just fine too. </p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfKO4Vav0NoiHsv8QKSnms3lHNq6GaN9kGMcAKkSU_RFsQFzOa0P4_jz_HdWvzT2TcKsrQdHBOQcgRF5geGTga6a3Y-8csQV4F49J0FuhSWW0tIraluEDu-bz9QcdMC9pqAuAyGsbpti_xePMa9eXNaQOcNKxjKSF3ZQ-xbHXLRH-kxLLO-sEFNwUS2IcM/s640/IMG_8762.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfKO4Vav0NoiHsv8QKSnms3lHNq6GaN9kGMcAKkSU_RFsQFzOa0P4_jz_HdWvzT2TcKsrQdHBOQcgRF5geGTga6a3Y-8csQV4F49J0FuhSWW0tIraluEDu-bz9QcdMC9pqAuAyGsbpti_xePMa9eXNaQOcNKxjKSF3ZQ-xbHXLRH-kxLLO-sEFNwUS2IcM/w300-h400/IMG_8762.jpg" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Love Notions Metra Blazer</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAnu8ezuJwLG_1Lgnv17zhu_AhyphenhyphenXtZ9kECZNJO-WiKmYYKL-peU5f4kju5M9YibF1_6AbagdE6CPye3leRXmU7wyDUZ4zMIEt7b6d-3wwNc099oSE2V3YtAAQGIUD8Y7gZ0mVuJS8ypTMgZgX83HFRyZDKRsT1QFynLbjOgvFBnvt7UpCDCgjH923kG7t4/s640/IMG_8763.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAnu8ezuJwLG_1Lgnv17zhu_AhyphenhyphenXtZ9kECZNJO-WiKmYYKL-peU5f4kju5M9YibF1_6AbagdE6CPye3leRXmU7wyDUZ4zMIEt7b6d-3wwNc099oSE2V3YtAAQGIUD8Y7gZ0mVuJS8ypTMgZgX83HFRyZDKRsT1QFynLbjOgvFBnvt7UpCDCgjH923kG7t4/w300-h400/IMG_8763.jpg" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Back View</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><p>I see a few more of these blazers in the near future!</p><p>Happy Sewing</p><p>Bonnie</p><p><br /></p>Bonnie @ sewplus.blogspot.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02963033371259192868noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4058105767010324032.post-33738120858889153822024-01-23T05:00:00.001-05:002024-01-23T05:00:00.140-05:00Love Notions Breckenridge Henley Top<p> Another Blue wardrobe piece! I finished off the year being able to sew up 3 dresses! I don't seem to have much free time to indulge in sewing. But I try to fit it in when I can.</p><p>We had a few cold days here in Florida and I don't own many dresses that are warm. The Designer Stitch Dita dress caught my eye. </p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHQqzpSxmiF-j_QM90ujGFghWAFSMzFicBASIPgAi4B5R5sTktryXwTKd-iWqIYjJxmpPnIqYyueXKvjC-g6WJRp8NtnZcW-V5YlUsOmstILewBW2WznwNwt4LR69ldx7201Lz8NWTrgew2i9rzPd4I5lKA12U4pCDovDrrdJEVGYQgVLPwvdphrm0C81t/s700/Dita-Dress-PDF-Sewing-Pattern-Pattern-Face-2-1-700x700.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="700" data-original-width="700" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHQqzpSxmiF-j_QM90ujGFghWAFSMzFicBASIPgAi4B5R5sTktryXwTKd-iWqIYjJxmpPnIqYyueXKvjC-g6WJRp8NtnZcW-V5YlUsOmstILewBW2WznwNwt4LR69ldx7201Lz8NWTrgew2i9rzPd4I5lKA12U4pCDovDrrdJEVGYQgVLPwvdphrm0C81t/w400-h400/Dita-Dress-PDF-Sewing-Pattern-Pattern-Face-2-1-700x700.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Designer Stitch Dita Dress</td></tr></tbody></table><br />I made a size 6-D cup muslin version from a cranberry ponte knit. Tapering to a size 10 at the hips. I made the midi length. ' Overall the pattern was easy to sew up, with lots of matching seams. The sleeve head gave me a little pause and I had to quit for the night & come back the next day fresh to figure it out. I liked the dress and only had to make a few minor adjustments. I removed 1/4" from front princess seam and added 1/4" to the skirt seam allowances. <br /><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb-rgi1Tsn5HmukbXa6oXvpgS1Mb2274uAAkZdZ39DKtEh4wL_RKH_iLXj09ifN87nIfK7SzHhxGuaLzZYgo6aJrHbT0Z7WUHYzp1WUF-awTUf9YT1rw1zIrPJTgAOGwTHMo_lYaB6dPuDAmaNH71D2YjqKtwo_Vdv6m04YLhMG9xY9W2-TXoMX7h4Auvo/s640/IMG_8188.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb-rgi1Tsn5HmukbXa6oXvpgS1Mb2274uAAkZdZ39DKtEh4wL_RKH_iLXj09ifN87nIfK7SzHhxGuaLzZYgo6aJrHbT0Z7WUHYzp1WUF-awTUf9YT1rw1zIrPJTgAOGwTHMo_lYaB6dPuDAmaNH71D2YjqKtwo_Vdv6m04YLhMG9xY9W2-TXoMX7h4Auvo/w300-h400/IMG_8188.jpg" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Retro Dita Dress</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimnPD-9FGou38X3OUKNZRekDJoKHv04gfK0KICP7QUYdq84SsASPags_UvNW5SDswCrUgpGCKT5auU5Lms5V9Lc9fR5XebshCpi6EDKs63Y-yaFcJqe_Ot7rD7G1tGRGXkf9aoKh28BvD7TW_YCvdYW9UJuePt4-jLXKmaSQOhJvOzROLVKFKKvsPj8sku/s640/IMG_8189.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimnPD-9FGou38X3OUKNZRekDJoKHv04gfK0KICP7QUYdq84SsASPags_UvNW5SDswCrUgpGCKT5auU5Lms5V9Lc9fR5XebshCpi6EDKs63Y-yaFcJqe_Ot7rD7G1tGRGXkf9aoKh28BvD7TW_YCvdYW9UJuePt4-jLXKmaSQOhJvOzROLVKFKKvsPj8sku/w300-h400/IMG_8189.jpg" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Neckline</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBzIv5LNx5701R6lTwE2XxB-UlcJlzzgiLkFrWlEhqhQfaVtMDTZlO46s3xnT8tRDdBN9MttvqyPBP6OBKjeythSh0Cs0kQkzIP2nNUsbcCijtS1odqLsXWrt7KLCMzMeEBIssOUfTKOhcpaXzrAOufXTEBDIj9mu54grQOOVEEQ8XYBlkRMrpzQH9Acdo/s640/IMG_8190.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBzIv5LNx5701R6lTwE2XxB-UlcJlzzgiLkFrWlEhqhQfaVtMDTZlO46s3xnT8tRDdBN9MttvqyPBP6OBKjeythSh0Cs0kQkzIP2nNUsbcCijtS1odqLsXWrt7KLCMzMeEBIssOUfTKOhcpaXzrAOufXTEBDIj9mu54grQOOVEEQ8XYBlkRMrpzQH9Acdo/w300-h400/IMG_8190.jpg" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Sleeve</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPmDIC7bmMbhkgpY-IMQt6f9rqkZ83zHYrp0ueDe-qoRVuEiAki8RUP1PU-NtSzx78-8m7fdusgQY5M4frNkh_x2y-mmERjVRX9OH3Ie9Q4I02TAo0Dw55HHi-s2Y1w7sO6Y6MyA2G62qZoVGUW6w8VntZSBVUxP5zZH6SBpMnhizBQt_mHkavH4Nuu_sI/s640/IMG_8192.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPmDIC7bmMbhkgpY-IMQt6f9rqkZ83zHYrp0ueDe-qoRVuEiAki8RUP1PU-NtSzx78-8m7fdusgQY5M4frNkh_x2y-mmERjVRX9OH3Ie9Q4I02TAo0Dw55HHi-s2Y1w7sO6Y6MyA2G62qZoVGUW6w8VntZSBVUxP5zZH6SBpMnhizBQt_mHkavH4Nuu_sI/w300-h400/IMG_8192.jpg" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Back View</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><div>I have an idea for another version of the Dita dress with a fuller skirt and shorter sleeves.<div><br /></div><div>Until next time.....</div><div><br /></div><div>Bonnie<br /><p><br /></p></div></div>Bonnie @ sewplus.blogspot.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02963033371259192868noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4058105767010324032.post-69945590987034227072023-12-23T11:02:00.002-05:002023-12-23T11:02:40.433-05:00Merry Christmas<p> Where has the year gone? I know Florida is still very warm but wishing for cooler weather so I made Girl M & myself a Love Notions Constellation Jacket. I had planned on gifting Girl M hers for Christmas but she saw it and away it went!<div><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgb1BYDx5kJmAP0__ixQeNaV9b-Yc_9SnaMVAI-7XUTyyuzIZW9YaYN30R3P__Xcrl3KpPKgqRmGOujwr1-DrDTJF-4Ok3ExSw9_5OtZZjhGtIfBkm9GzceZsKcGkKXCoYJKao8NBIfNktrGPjmel59ZCDS7waXl79KuzZEE81jSqDImAB44YhCxzh7lLlD/s4032/1ACAF98B-59DF-4EB6-B8D7-133E551D2E95.jpeg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgb1BYDx5kJmAP0__ixQeNaV9b-Yc_9SnaMVAI-7XUTyyuzIZW9YaYN30R3P__Xcrl3KpPKgqRmGOujwr1-DrDTJF-4Ok3ExSw9_5OtZZjhGtIfBkm9GzceZsKcGkKXCoYJKao8NBIfNktrGPjmel59ZCDS7waXl79KuzZEE81jSqDImAB44YhCxzh7lLlD/w300-h400/1ACAF98B-59DF-4EB6-B8D7-133E551D2E95.jpeg" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Girl M in Love Notions Constellation-Back View<br /><br /></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsLBRLipQSSfo4YFGh76Dz-Q-UU_BYU95VwuRR9_Z1_nUw_7MmNkir-I5YWiLC2V7UvrYj3ppbCyZRKM4QCwpSDRhAKCohHDqKa58j6p2KExSudrxRPKVnHOoBaB8eNEyQYTgnDmh3gVr9kh6jyyH2X6v1f5T8mqrD73_NRCuIV0SUZRe8hxas5jJXsvOd/s3688/B82732F3-8173-47A0-972C-E57E72169BD4.jpeg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3688" data-original-width="2526" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsLBRLipQSSfo4YFGh76Dz-Q-UU_BYU95VwuRR9_Z1_nUw_7MmNkir-I5YWiLC2V7UvrYj3ppbCyZRKM4QCwpSDRhAKCohHDqKa58j6p2KExSudrxRPKVnHOoBaB8eNEyQYTgnDmh3gVr9kh6jyyH2X6v1f5T8mqrD73_NRCuIV0SUZRe8hxas5jJXsvOd/w274-h400/B82732F3-8173-47A0-972C-E57E72169BD4.jpeg" width="274" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Love Notions Constellation</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvGY73Zy0B7r-E7ivFT59jSdAtZpN9E4DhkAofez7R4aPlo7js3FCMuCnyW1sjQogJ5xVwJ3a_ONI8kGcRoEkxK2nklsYDplluAUkSHZ3NWYYwvmFkO1IFvb-aVY1znwb0YUhVtjE8rrOu5cM0_XMOUDGymIeGLcaE-PXEFsr56oxZNWkFc0qcBFzz9kHI/s4032/DC213C8E-11EA-46F3-BCAE-809984085563.jpeg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvGY73Zy0B7r-E7ivFT59jSdAtZpN9E4DhkAofez7R4aPlo7js3FCMuCnyW1sjQogJ5xVwJ3a_ONI8kGcRoEkxK2nklsYDplluAUkSHZ3NWYYwvmFkO1IFvb-aVY1znwb0YUhVtjE8rrOu5cM0_XMOUDGymIeGLcaE-PXEFsr56oxZNWkFc0qcBFzz9kHI/w300-h400/DC213C8E-11EA-46F3-BCAE-809984085563.jpeg" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Kangaroo Pocket</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgl315O9RQgwlBfzgA2ItMnUlR-A9nKViqKWAt6pxvaC-CLomr3N8jXu-cYcpOf1aaaawA74yVxvgdAOx4JGHltKuNQptSNEPbbfkDVOQvPog63gFLJNTFtEA4h5Y55YUlvP4787BgZFLVRwT9iDJ-eiEZCwJx3bP9SRDPKNdvAU73uq20Q3dXzGwXoKjQU/s3853/FDA8CCE6-E644-47AF-9550-12A6D59050F2.jpeg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3853" data-original-width="2889" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgl315O9RQgwlBfzgA2ItMnUlR-A9nKViqKWAt6pxvaC-CLomr3N8jXu-cYcpOf1aaaawA74yVxvgdAOx4JGHltKuNQptSNEPbbfkDVOQvPog63gFLJNTFtEA4h5Y55YUlvP4787BgZFLVRwT9iDJ-eiEZCwJx3bP9SRDPKNdvAU73uq20Q3dXzGwXoKjQU/w300-h400/FDA8CCE6-E644-47AF-9550-12A6D59050F2.jpeg" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Back View</td></tr></tbody></table><br />Boy F & Girl K are expecting a baby in 4 weeks! But when Designer Stitch put out a pattern test for their new Beth dress, I was in love! Unfortunately I had been so busy with "other" life events that I was unable to pattern test the dress and had to wait for the Beth dress pattern release. </p><p>Woven fabrics are not as forgiving as sewing with knit fabrics but after 4 muslins I was happy with my pattern adjustments. I used a floral print challis fabric from Fabric Mart Fabrics I purchased earlier this year. Next time I may consider using a fabric with a little more structure than the challis.
