Simplicity 1355 Black Floral Jumpsuit

My dear, sweet, "I'm a teenager", daughter NEVER asks me to sew for her.  I've tried not let it bother me and think "Why sew something for her if she won't even wear it."

Then she asked for a jumpsuit!

I would have made it the same day, but I thought I would let her WANT if for a week or so.  But I can't wait anymore, so I'm making her the Simplicity 1355 jumpsuit with the long pants.

She picked out the pattern and the fabric on a trip to Joann's. She has choose view "C" top with the pants.  Thank goodness the pattern was only $1 since the fabric was $19!  I never spend that much on myself for one piece of fabric, but how could I say no?

The pattern was very easy to sew up.  Nothing too complicated.  I just have to wait to for her to get home to try it on.  Maybe she'll like it.

The fabric was thin so I cut out the top pieces twice and treated them as one piece.  Doubling the thickness of the fabric was perfect.

She LOVES it!  I couldn't believe it!  The medium fit her perfect.  I did shortened the ties for her by 12".

She can't wait to wear it out.  Unfortunately she wears a uniform to school so she has to wait for a weekend.

Dear Daughter's dog Lulu photo bombed her.  She's so happy when dear daughter gets home from school, she follows her around and is right beside her all evening.  Nothing like puppy love!

I am so glad she loves the jumpsuit.  Making it for her was a wonderful thing and meant a lot to me. I'm happy that it is something she will enjoy wearing.

Until next time...................

  3. Your daughter looks very cute! My twenty something year old daughters occasionally ask me to sew for them but never as teens! I guess they are growing up LOL!

    1. Thank you. Kids grow so fast, 5 years ago, she would let me sew for her. But she did tell me the other day that I was making her wedding dress. I'm glad I have many years of sewing ahead of me for that!
