Wedding

 Girl M was a bridesmaid in a wedding this past weekend. I made her dress from the Love Notion’s Willow wrap dress.  I lengthened the skirt to floor length and made a double flutter sleeve.  I was very limited on fabric choices in the bride’s requested color of dusty sage. But eventually I found a brushed ITY knit from Amazon. In my opinion it was a double brushed jersey not ITY knit. But the color was 99% a match.

My dress is the Designer Stitch Brenda dress. I used the slim long skirt and the petal sleeves. 

Girl M has a wedding date of September 10, 2022! Let the planning begin!

Life Updates & Happenings

 Life sure has a way of pushing sewing aside.  Dear Hubby and I are enjoying being empty nesters/honeymooners and doing home projects and a few small trips in the past month.  

We repainted our kitchen cabinets and countertops.  We went from a dark brown to a lighter gray color on the cabinets and solid white counter tops.  We love the new look and it helps to freshen things up a bit.  I also put new shelf liner in all the cabinets.  It's been 15+ years.  Now when I open the cabinets it's so pretty!

We took a few days and went to North Georgia.  We saw a bit of leftover snow, enjoyed cooler temperatures and headed back home to sunshine and warmth.

Honeymooning?

Girl M. is a bridesmaid in a wedding.  I made her dress.  Hoping to have an updated picture of her wearing it soon.

Boy F. got engaged!  Finally!  We're so happy for them and we love Lady K!

I've spent some time with my Dear Friend C. from Canada and her husband while they are vacationing here is beautiful, sunny Florida.  We've gone thrifting and a quilt bazaar, out to eat and one evening while our husbands went to watch auto racing we chatted all evening and she went shopping in my fabric stash!  I was thrilled to share and that she was able to find a few yards of fabric in her color!

(I should really take a photos with her but I'm always having such a good time I forget!)

Love Notions Willow Wrap Dress

 If 1 Love Notions Willow Wrap Dress is good, 2 is great, 3 is an even better thing. What is 4? Fantastic!!

I’m in the use it up mode with my fabric stash. I want to buy new fabric but where do I put it? So I plan on using what I have as much as possible. We’ll see how long I can hold out!

I made a sleeveless version with a bit of a fuller skirt.  I love it!

I made another Love Notions Willow Wrap dress............A classic blue dress is a wardrobe staple. Lots to mix and match in my closet.  I used a blue ITY knit fabric from my stash I purchased from Fabric Mart Fabrics online sometime last year or the year before.  Who know?!

Love Notions Willow Wrap Dress

Dear Hubby took me away for the weekend to a Gospel Music Fest and of course I had to make something new to wear.  I made the Love Notions Willow Wrap Dress from a DTY knit fabric in my stash from Fabric Mart Fabrics.

I wanted a maxi skirt on this version.  I just cut out two rectangles on the fold about 41" long.  I gathered the top of the skirt and added to the wrap bodice.  Perfect!

Love Notions Laundry Day Tee

New Year has Dear Hubby dragging me to the Park to walk.  I'm usually grumpy while I'm walking but glad I did it when it's over.  Hormones!  

I needed a few longer tanks to wear with my leggings when I walk and knew the Laundry Day Tee would be perfect.  I lengthened it to 25" and used neck and arm hole bindings.  This is an easy sew and uses 1 yard of fabric.

Pattern Emporium Meet You There Surprise Dress

You know I can not just make a pattern once and be done with it.  My second version of the Pattern Emporium Meet You There Dress was from a cotton fabric that didn't have as much drape as the eggplant floral challis version.  But nonetheless it was a great sew.

I was a pattern tester for Sinclair Patterns Tuva Cardigan.  What a great pattern!  Little did I know when I sewed my test version from this Jungle Green (Teal) ponte knit fabric that it would match my Meet You There Dress.  Things work out!
