Love Notions Breckenridge Henley Top

Another Blue wardrobe piece!  A Love Notions Breckenridge Henley top to wear with a cut skirt I purchased from Amazon.  Why?  Who knows why I bought a skirt from Amazon!  But I like it!

Love Notions Olympia Dress

Another blue dress for my wardrobe.  I am in love with the Love Notions Olympia Dress in a floral double knit fabric from Fabric Mart Fabric in my stash.  Such a quick sew.  I only had a bit of fabric leftover so I thought that a flutter style sleeve would be nice.

I need to find something else blue to sew since my serger & machine both have blue threads.

Love Notions Whistler Dress

I got the Blues!  Really, I'm trying to limit my black wardrobe sewing a little.  So why not navy?

The Love Notion Whistler Dress was on my radar in a poly/rayon/lycra ponte knit I purchased sometime in the past from Fabric Mart Fabrics.  I could not decide what sleeve so I just made a simple 3/4 length sleeve.

What used to take me a day to sew up now takes almost a week.  The grandbabies are just the cutest things and take a lot of energy.  But I wouldn't trade them for anything.

Pattern Emporium Every Day's A Weekend Tiered Sweater Dress

Another cooler weather dress.  I liked the Pattern Emporium Field of Dreams & Meet You There Dresses I made last year so I thought that the Every Day's a Weekend Dress would make a great sweater dress.

There are so many options on this dress pattern.  I chose the long sleeve, long midi tiered skirt wit the rolled style neck.  Warm & cozy from this brushed rib sweater knit fabric I purchased from Fabric Mart Fabrics some time in the past years.

I think this dress will be a great basic in my wardrobe.  I can wear it with boots, heals, tights or flats.  I can dress it up or wear it very casual.  I'll be looking forward to more cool "Florida" days.

Designer Stitch Tweed Knit Dita Dress

The third one is a charm right?  This version of the Designer Stitch Dita dress is my cold weather wear.  Long sleeves, midi length and a tweed look knit that has an almost sweater feel to it.  I am not usually a tan/brown wearer but this one is doable and I love how it turned out.

I like that you can wear the dress with either the self-fabric belt/band, a RTW belt or plain.  I can see wearing this with boots, t-strap heels or even ballet flats.  Very versatile and classy.

Designer Stitch Floral Dita Dress

I'm on a sewing roll with the Dita dress!  I thought that this floral liverpool knit was the perfect fabric for a shorter version of the Dita dress.  I made the elbow length sleeves and drafted a flared (1/2 circle) style skirt.  It was nice not having to match up as many seams too.

I opened the neck up by turning back the neck points like a small collar on this version to give it some air.  I can't wait to wear it come warmer weather.

Happy New Year & Sewing Designer Stitch Dita Dress

Hope you have a Happy & Healthy New Year!  I finished off the year being able to sew up 3 dresses!  I don't seem to have much free time to indulge in sewing. But I try to fit it in when I can.

We had a few cold days here in Florida and I don't own many dresses that are warm.  The Designer Stitch Dita dress caught my eye.

I made a size 6-D cup muslin version from a cranberry ponte knit.  Tapering to a size 10 at the hips. I made the midi length. ' Overall the pattern was easy to sew up, with lots of matching seams.  The sleeve head gave me a little pause and I had to quit for the night & come back the next day fresh to figure it out.  I liked the dress and only had to make a few minor adjustments.  I removed 1/4" from front princess seam and added 1/4" to the skirt seam allowances.

I have an idea for another version of the Dita dress with a fuller skirt and shorter sleeves.

Until next time.....
