Wardrobe by Me Teal Mirri Dress

 Another version of the Wardrobe by Me Mirri Dress in a Teal ITY Knit fabric I purchased from Fabric Mart Fabrics sometime in the past.

I wanted a flutter sleeve for this version.  I removed 4" from the sleeve edge and used a flutter sleeve hacked pattern piece from the Love Notions Willow Wrap Dress.  I also made a self fabric belt/tie.  

This may be my most favorite version of the Mirri pattern yet!

Love Notions Laundry Day Green & White StripeTee Dress with Runched Ties

 There are a few Facebook Live broadcast that I like to watch to get inspirational ideas from.  One of my favorites is Shepherd's Fashions from Canada.  I like that the ladies not only give tip on dressing current styles but also multiple ways to wear an item.  The ladies are "real" sizes and all ages.  I probably would shop there if it wasn't 1200 miles away! 

This T-shirt dress with the runched front ties caught my eye.  I love the style & the stripes.  I didn't care for the length.  It was a little too short for me.  I don't love my knees (I'm working on that!) and wanted the dress to be a little longer.

I found a fabric similar at Fabric Mart Fabrics (surprise! surprise!).  Jungle Green/Off-White Poly/Lycra Horizontal Stripe Rib Knit 56W $4.50/yard.  I used 2.5yards, So my version was $11.25!

I took in the side seams by 1" to reduce the fullness of the swing of the skirt.  I lengthened the dress 4".  I added a channel inside the dress for the ties and made two buttonholes to slide the ties out of.

Love Notions Laundry Day Tee Nightgown

 Why had I never sewn the Love Notions Laundry Day Tee?  Was it too simple?  Did I not think I needed one?  Why o Why did I wait so long?  Of course as per usual I had to grade between sizes but I know that I am Large in the shoulders & upper bust with Love Notions Patterns.  

I have an inspiration idea and new that the Laundry Day Tee would be a good start.  This pattern sews up so quick and I made it in less than an hour total. Now I have a new nightgown and I can work on my next project inspired by too much Facebook Live watching!

Styla Reine Meets McCall's 7122 Black Sweater Knit Top

 After taking a deep breath and thinking about the Styla Reine Top I realized I love the sleeves.  I have previously made the McCall's 7122 raglan sleeve top so why not frankenpattern the two!

I like the higher neckline of the McCall's 7122 and the curved hem.  It has a center back seam for my sway back too.  I went down to a size 18 sleeve of the Styla Reine and just layed it over the McCall's sleeve and not using a sleeve cuff.

The fabric was a Poly/Lycra Sweater knit from my stash, purchased from Fabric Mart Fabrics (of course!). The fabric 

I would call this a WIN and I love this top!

Styla Reine Top

 I saw the sleeves to the Syla Reine Top and fell in love!  I was unsure what type of fabric to use or what size to start with.  I used a 100% poly variegated french knit from my stash and purchased at Fabric Mart Fabrics.  The fabric choice may not have been ideal for this top.  It wanted to stretch out a little and was a bit scratchy too.  

I had to grade between sizes.  14 shoulders/bust, 18 waist, 20 hips and 24 sleeve!  I should have know this was not going to turn out too well!

The fabric neckband stretched out and looks wonky, I'm not a fan of the banding at the hips. One sleeve puffs funny, and it was a bit too boxy for me.  Maybe I was just grumpy this day I sewed.

Sinclair Pattern Bianca Bolero

 My wardrobe needed a simple white topper.  I chose the Sinclair Pattern Bianca Bolero from a white Ponte Knit Fabric from my stash.  I had previously printed the pattern and it was in my size....so I thought.  Maybe it was the fabric but the bolero is snug.  I can wear it, not with a top with sleeves but with a sleeveless dress it is ok.

It is a quick and easy sew so that is a plus but being a bit snug sure puts a damper on your body image.

Wardrobe by Me Mirri Wrap Dress Blue Abstract

 After wearing the pink floral version of the Wardrobe by Me Mirri Wrap Dress I had to make a minor adjustment to the wrap.  The wrap seemed to gap a bit.  It could have been the jersey fabric stretching but making wrap a little more snug was not going to hurt.

Wardrobe by Me Mirri Wrap Dress

 Making the Wardrobe by Me Mirri Wrap Dress is a quick sew with only a few pattern pieces.  I was not a fan of the skirt shape so I altered the skirt pattern to a more flared, fuller skirt.  I like the way the skirt moves when I walk now and it doesn't hug my middle section at much.

I also made a self fabric belt to hide the waist seam a bit. I like the kimono/grown on sleeves with the sleeve bands.  I used a jersey knit fabric from my stash I purchased years ago at Fabric Mart Fabrics.
