SECRET Mother of the Groom Dress-Wardrobe by Me Mirri Dress

Don't you just love it when a pattern and fabric are a perfect match!

I made the Wardrobe by Me Mirri Dress for Boy F's upcoming WEDDING!  We are getting another Daughter In Law!  Another Lady K!  We love her and are so excited for them!

I used an embroidered mesh knit fabric from my stash over an ITY knit, treating the two fabrics as one and modified the pattern to add a flutter sleeve.  I had just enough of the mesh knit fabric to make a waistband.  A made a gathered skirt for this version since I prefer the fullness over my hips.

Style Arc Hope Dress-Black & White Circle Print Challis

I made another version of the Style Arc Hope dress with the same bodice but a two tiered skirt.  I added waist ties to help with the fullness also.  I purchased this rayon challis fabric from Fabric Mart Fabrics and it is the softest, lightweight summery feel fabric!

Style Arc Hope Dress-Floral Crinkle Challis

I love the style of a loose, flowy dress for Spring time.  I had a crinkle rayon challis ditsy floral fabric I purchased from Fabric Mart Fabrics that I thought would make a great dress.  The fabric sewed up beautifully and the pattern is another easy sew.

Oh, those sleeves!  I love them!  Flowy, elastic wrist, 3/4 length sleeve, raglan!  Love it!

Sleeves

The fabric did grow a lot and after wearing it I have taken in the side seams 1-1/2" at the waist.  That's a total of 6"!  I have an idea for another version.... a tiered skirt!

Simplicity 8640 Black Linen Dress

You know I can't just make one dress from a pattern but this black linen version is probably my most favorite of them all.  Longer length, sideseam pockets and just the most comfortable style.

I wore this with the Magnolia print linen jacket.  This may be my most favorite combination.

Simplicity 8640 Green Linen Dress

I purchased 9 yards of Sage Linen/Rayon Brussels Washer yarn dyed linen blend fabric by Robert Kaufman from my usual FabricMart Fabrics last month in hopes to make a linen wardrobe.  The fabric washed up beautifully and is so soft.

Another Simplicity 8640 in the shorter version this time with neck band and armhole bands from self fabric bias tape.  Quick & easy sew!

Simplicity 8640

I'm late to the Simplicity 8640 train!  Jen from Today in Jen's Sewing Room, Alice Murray from Murr-made Designs and Stephanie from Stephanie Farrell Focus have all made this dress and after making it up I know why!  It's a GREAT dress!

Simplicity 8640

I used a piece of fabric from my stash for a muslin and ended up being wearable!  I did not add the pockets and used bias binding for the neckline and armholes. Easy sew and very figure flattering.  I made a straight size 18 in the longer length.

The fabric is a pale green and white check, a mystery rayon type fabric.  I may never get the fold creases out of this dress!

I see a linen version in the near future!

A Little Somethin' Magnolia Linen Jacket

I bought this pattern last year with my friend Cheryl at a little quilt shop in Lakeland.  I had my eye on it for a while and finally bought it (at full price).  It only took me a year to sew it up!

The pattern has three pieces.  Front, back and sleeve.  It's an easy sew and very generous in size.  The fabric I used was in my stash forever and is so soft and light.  I think this will be a staple for Florida humidity and heat this summer.
