Rose Print Jacquard Knit Dress

In between coats of primer on the kitchen cabinet doors I sewed another dress.  I used a pattern I have used many times before but once I tried on the dress, it's TOO BIG!  But I'm going to wear it anyways.  I love the floral print & the knit fabric is buttery soft.  On the dress form the dress looks great but when I wear it, the top blouses a lot  at the waist.  Dear Daughter mentioned that the dress swallows me.

I can't believe I paid this much for this fabric!  It must be misprinted or there was a % sale at the end of the cart.

$22.00 Dress?

Can you believe tomorrow is September 1st?  Where has the year gone?

Dear daughter took a quick picture of me wearing the Rose print jacquard knit dress.  I really should take it in from the underarm to the waist so it's a little more fitted.  But it's so comfy!

Going to the store

Growing out my gray update: It's now been 9 months!  I can't believe how white it is on top.

Next up is adding two coats of paint to the kitchen doors.  So I should be able to fit some sewing in between coats drying!

Until next time..................

Simplicity 7243 Green Ponte Knit Dress with Flounce

I wasn't too sure about the color Dark Ivy Green for a dress or the flounce but I persevered and the dress won me over!  At first I thought that the flounce made the dress look too youthful......but once I finished it, it starting to grow on me.  Then I looked through my closet and found a few sweaters and cardigans to wear with the dress and I'm now in love!

I used my TNT pattern (Simplicity 7243).  I used the 40" (Knee length) length, removing 7.5" from the bottom hem.  I made a flounce that was 8.5" wide and 1.5 times the circumference of the skirt hem.  I also added full length long sleeves.

I made a simple open knit long vest.  I don't think this is a fabric I could use for anything else, it worked for a vest.

I did get 10 of the kitchen cabinet doors primed.  I have to tell myself to paint cabinet doors THEN I get to sew.  Because if I didn't I would just ignore those doors right now!  Hopefully I can get them painted and put up soon and get a photo of 1/2 of the kitchen completed!  Wish me luck!

Until next time....................

Simplicity 7243 TNT Gray Ponte Knit Dress

I'm hoping that the Florida heat will soon give away to cooler weather soon.  I've sewn another gray dress with anticipation of Fall.  I used my Simplicity 7243 TNT pattern.  Gray ponte knit princess seam dress with 3/4 length sleeves and 40" length (knee length).  I think that this will be a staple in my closet.

I think this color gray will look good with my "new" hair color.  Lots of grays coming in.  I get a haircut this week.........I think it gets grayer with every cut.

Latest Sunday Selfie
We're still new at the selfie thing.  Dear hubby likes to take the picture while I'm talking!

Until next time.............

Gray Inspiration!

I haven't been able to get much sewing done lately but I did get a chance to sneak in the sewing room this past week and sew up a dress.

My inspiration came from Pinterest as usual!

I added a cowl/drape neck for the dress.  I love how the jersey knit is thin enough for Florida's Fall season.  I can wear it warm with a jacket, vest or sweater and when it's warm just wear as is.

I haven't hemmed the skirt yet.  I planned on wearing this dress with tall black boots.  I'm thinking a 42" below the knee length would be good.

I'm on a roll in the sewing room.  Hopefully I keep my sewing mojo!

Until next time..............
